That's not a constraint, it's the quarter's charm. The right method is to leave the car in one of the covered car parks on the immediate edge, then reach the table on foot in a few minutes through the lanes. You arrive relaxed, without hunting for an impossible spot along the Saône quays.

The nearest covered car parks
Two covered car parks frame Vieux-Lyon and let you walk to rue des Trois-Maries. Parking Saint-Jean, to the north, is the most central: a few minutes on foot bring you to the cathedral, then to us. Parking Saint-Georges, to the south along the Saône, is a handy alternative when the first is full.
These underground car parks are open around the clock and sheltered — real comfort in the rain or for a dinner that runs long. Many can be booked online in advance, which secures a space on busy evenings and at weekends, with no circling.
Across the Saône, on the Presqu'île, other city-centre car parks — around Les Célestins or Saint-Antoine — remain an option: allow for a short walk across a footbridge or the pont Bonaparte, pleasant in fine weather.
Coming by metro and public transport
The simplest — and most Lyonnaise — option is the metro. Line D reaches Vieux-Lyon – Cathédrale Saint-Jean station directly, under three minutes' walk from the restaurant. From Part-Dieu or Perrache stations, the connection is quick: you leave the car in the garage and forget about it.
The quarter is also the departure point for the funiculars — the famous 'ficelle' — climbing to Fourvière and Saint-Just, handy for extending the visit after the meal. Several bus lines run along the Saône quays and serve the area in the evening.
Walking to rue des Trois-Maries
Once the car is parked or the metro left behind, the rest is on foot — and it's the finest way to approach Vieux-Lyon. From Vieux-Lyon station or Parking Saint-Jean, follow Saint-Jean cathedral and head towards place de la Baleine: rue des Trois-Maries opens just there, a quiet parallel to rue Saint-Jean.
Allow three to five minutes' walk from the main arrival points, over easy cobbles. The street owes its name to a 17th-century sign honouring the three Marys of the Gospel; it's also our house's name — one of the oldest bouchons in the city, which you'll spot by its red awning.

Our tips for stress-free parking
First instinct: book your car park at the same time as your table, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Vieux-Lyon is one of the busiest quarters in Lyon, and covered spaces go fast in late afternoon. An online booking gets you in without queuing at the barrier.
Second: arrive a little early. The time to park and walk to rue des Trois-Maries adds to the table's booking. Allowing ten to fifteen minutes' margin turns a race against the clock into a pleasant pre-meal stroll through the Renaissance quarter.
